From Cozy Charm to Cold Confusion

Once a beloved hideaway for locals and hotel guests alike, Il-Baldakkin at the Kempinski has undergone one too many identity changes. What was once a cozy, welcoming space with a solid menu and attentive staff now feels like a revolving door of culinary concepts—and none seem to stick.

Pros

  • ✅ Located in a 5-star hotel setting
  • ✅ They Serve one of my favorite cocktails: Light Trick ( Citrus Vodka, Raspberry, Kiwi, Ginger )

(Unfortunately, not much else stands out anymore)

  • Cold, impersonal atmosphere
  • Slow and inattentive service
  • ❌ Lost its previous charm and quality

Conclusion

Il-Baldakkin used to be a monthly go-to spot for its inviting atmosphere and consistently good food. Today, it feels more like an afterthought within the Kempinski—struggling to define what it wants to be, and losing loyal guests along the way.
